Abell+Crozier+Davis Architects has been successful partnering with other Architects, Contractors, and Engineers acting as either the prime Architect
and professional of record for projects or in support of other Architects. This relationship has allowed the firm to be exposed to different
processes, standards, and conventions which encourage a very flexible understanding of what a “typical” project is.
When performing work outside your region, the most important asset for an Architect during the Construction phase is having boots on the ground. Whether
performing Construction Administration services for our own work or as a liaison to out of town Architects, Abell+Crozier+Davis Architects adheres
to a singular method of tracking construction activity. By closely following all AIA protocols, ACDA is able to maintain tight control over tracking
of submittals, changes, correspondence, and field progress. Each field visit is documented in written format and with photographs circulated to all
parties. We believe in close adherence to the Construction Documents while keeping communication lines open. Issues arise on every project, clearer
heads always prevail.
By providing Construction Documents services for other Architects, Abell+Crozier+Davis Architects have allowed them to be flexible with their work load
or simply concentrate on the design portion of the project. This has been a very fluid relationship with the scope of work sliding to accommodate the
prime Architect’s wishes. The scope of work can be a simple break with ACDA taking over at the end of Design Development performing the Construction
Documents phase including specifications and handing the project back over to the prime Architect for Bidding and Construction Administration. It can
also be taken over at any point along the line where ACDA becomes the professional of record provided all licensing laws are abided by.
Office and CAD standards are always discussed and incorporated in a manner that provides an economical and mutually beneficial manner.
Liturgical Design Consulting
We at Abell+Crozier+Davis have a passion for Religious Architecture. We have been the prime Architect on over 25 new Catholic churches or major renovations
as well as several worship spaces for other denominations. This depth of experience combined with formal and informal training enables us to be a valuable
addition to any project involving Catholic, Methodist, Episcopal, and other denominations’ worship spaces.
Our process is one that comes from formal training at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago as well as our experience. We have found that a process
involving the entire congregation to build consensus and buy in helps gain momentum toward fundraising and ultimately project realization. By teaming
with other firms in a variety of ways that fit their specific needs we have been successful in assisting them in securing projects. Several skills
and services offered are as follows:
- Educational Workshop facilitation
- Art work and liturgical furnishing coordination
- Liturgical furnishing design and delivery
- In depth knowledge of the church guidelines
